Leaf Description
1-3 erect, thick leathery dark green to yellow-green leaves, narrowly elliptic, 3-18cm x 13-40mm, held stiffly erect on stalks 1-19cm long. Green on both surfaces.
General Description
Stiffly erect hairless orchid with the column below the labellum. 1-3 broad leaves with 3-20 flowers growing to 80cm high. Flowers open sequentially up the stem. The labellum (lip) is held ridgly forward and is reddish and incurved. Forms small colonies, retaining the leaves all year unless it is very dry. These orchids actively grow over spring and summer.
Flower Description
3-20 terminal raceme flowers, to 25mm across. Fine green to wellow-green perianth segments speading with margins rolled in. An oblong labellum held forward with 2 deep purple ridges ending in a large 2-lobel callus near the tip, margins recurved.
