Leaf Description
Single, sheathing, v-shaped, narrow leaf, to 30cm x 10mm. Erect, hairless, fleshy and green.
General Description
2-9 yellow-green flowers to 70cm tall, each with coppery to red 'beards'. Slender, erect and self-pollinating. Rare in Melbourne. Similar to Calochilus robertsonii, but Calochilus therophilus flowers later, is taller, slender, has a sparser beard and the flowers are widely spaced apart.
Flower Description
2-9 green flowers with purple stripes, to 30mm across. Hooded ovate dorsal sepals with a pointed tip, lateral sepals triangular. Narrow ovate labellum with short glossy purple glands at base. Red/purple/brown hairs tapering into glabrous trail.
