Single narrow sparsely hairy leaf 3-15cm x 1-4mm.
A common orchid which varies in colour from white to deep pink. Slender erect perennial growing from round tubers, scattered in loose colonies. Stem green or reddish with scattered hairs. Dies down in hot weather.
A very variable species, with 1-5 pink flowers, occasionally white to 30mm across. Perianth segments weakly pointed and projecting forward and dorsal sepal erect. Both labellum and column have deep red bars. 3-lobed Labellum with yellow mid-lobe recurved, 2 rows of cream to yellow calli from base to middle.
