Leaf Description
Erect single narrow to rounded channelled leaf 5-19cm x 1-4mm, dark green with reddish base, sheathing at base of stem; 1-2 sheathing stem bracts.
General Description
Perennial herb with fleshy egg-shaped tubers. Plants form massed displays.
Flower Description
2-4 yellow raceme flowers, to 45mm across. Sepals red/brown striped on outside. White to yellow column erect. Column arms 2-lobed red/brown, situated above the column, mid-lobe absent. Anther with yellow ovid tip, sitting below column arms.

Bright yellow, reddish brown on outside

Dry woodland, damp and forests, tea-tree heath, grassy low open forest.

Growing Conditions
Moist well drained soils from heavy clays to gravel. Full sun, semi shade. Flowers open freely on warm days. Flowers well after fire.
